Mark asks…

I still cannot sleep?

Ive switched beds, made a healthy bedtime routine, etc. Now and i need to know some homeopath remedies for sleep. No chamomile or elder flowers though. Any suggestions?

Binaural Beats answers:

If you have never tried Binaural Beats for falling asleep I would definitely give them a shot. I found out about them because I couldn’t sleep at all and they have helped me so much! They are two tones played in headphones and they work like a turning fork to entrain your brain into a sleep state.
Here is a great binaural beat session for Sleeping on youtube:

I hope they help you as much as they have me!

Binaural Beats answers:

Go on youtube and type in “binaural beats for falling asleep” or just search there for nature sounds and music to help you fall asleep! Works everytime! DON’T EVER TAKE SLEEPING PILLS!!! I’m really against those…

Helen asks…

How can I get to sleep?

I have some serious trouble sleeping. I have tried a lot of sleeping medication and I have tried those binaural beats. Only 10mg melatonin tablets seem to be working but my prescription is almost run out (yes, a doctor gave me a prescription for it, this is bad!)
I have heard of people who can just fall asleep, just like that. I would love to be able to just flick a switch and drift off. It is really affecting my life because I still have to wake up at the same time during the week, and I spend most of my weekend sleeping through the day because I don’t get to sleep until 3 o’clock in the morning. I cannot go a week without at least one all nighter (as in, I see the sun rise through my window).
Please help!
Thanks

Binaural Beats answers:

The rule of thumb is that a safe Melatonin dosage is one tablet per day of 1-5 mg. Taking 10 mg of Melatonin per day is probably too much.

Sleeping pills can give you side effects so you are better off without them.

To sleep better just relax and switch off, if you can.

If you are having trouble switching off at bedtime some light exercise (for example, push ups or sit ups) at bedtime often helps you to relax, unwind and switch off and that often improves your sleep. Strenuous exercise at bedtime is likely to ruin your sleep.

Common sleep aids include Chamomile tea, 5-HTP, Melatonin and Valerian Root.

Sleep enhancing foods are supposed to include warm milk, turkey, cherries, oatmeal, bananas, wine and others as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22sleep+enhancing+foods%22&fr=ush-ans

You can see further tips in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22how+to+fall+asleep+and+stay+asleep%22&fr=ush-ans which tells you “how to fall asleep and stay asleep”.

Nancy asks…

I cant sleep. can anyone suggest some natural ways off dropping off please?

Binaural Beats answers:

1. Don’t drink an hour before bed and make sure you go to the bathroom right before bed.
2. Sleep in total darkness. Maybe you should wear a mask.
3. Wear socks
4. Start breathing as if you are asleep when lying in bed
5. Stretch really well before bed
6. Roll your eyes around before or while in bed.
7. Eat a little peanut butter on whole wheat before bed.
8. Play relaxing music, and if you have an mp3 player listen to binaural beats
9. Sleep in complete silence (if you don’t listen to music). You might want to buy earplugs.
10. Go to bed at the same time every day.
11. Try lying on the floor for a while, then get into bed.
12. And lastly stay completely still when trying to fall asleep becaus your body is “testing you”
