Joseph asks…

Anybody know of some good stress relievers?

Lately I have been super stressed with some private reasons and I have just not been myself.
I have been super tired lately because I can’t sleep, and I’m about to give up on everything.
Anybody know of some good stress relievers to help calm me down?

Thanks in advance.

Binaural Beats answers:

Have you tried binaural beats yet. I use them for meditation and focusing but this site – http://binauralbeats-store.com – has one for stress release.

Binaural beats help your mind get to the state it needs to be in to help relax. It’s not like drugs that alter your brain it’s just a normal state that’s hard to get to in an instance. You listen to them with headphones or just on your computer or cd player.

Your brain goes through different phases or frequencies during the day.

4-7 Hz, which are classified as Theta waves, are associated with Dreams, Deep Meditation, and REM sleep.

When you are just falling asleep at night you are probably in the 7 – 13 Hz range, classified as Alpha waves, which are associated with Relaxation, and before and after bed drowsiness.

During the day when you are awake, you are most likely in the area of >40 Hz, classified as Gamma waves, which are associated with higher mental activity.

So binaural beats help you go from the Gamma to a calmer state.

They work this way. Let’s say in your right ear will be a frequency of 300 Hz and in your left ear will be a frequency of 308 Hz so your brain is drawn towards the beat frequency of 8 Hz which is the difference between the two. A neat example is when you fly in a passenger plane; you may often hear a fluctuating droning sound. That is a beat frequency caused by engine vibrations at two close frequencies.

James asks…

Do binaural beats really work?

I want to try some of them but I feel like they won’t work and I’ll just be wasting my money. If they do work, what are some of the best ones?

Binaural Beats answers:

I have used binaural beats for years and had really great success with them. I have used them for relaxation, better sleep, for health stuff and also to get rid of headaches. I have been very happy with the ones from the Unexplainable Store.

I think some recordings are better than others and it is important to get them from a quality website that produces their own original, raw beats. Otherwise you could end up with a stock recording and then yeah you would likely be wasting your money.

Check out this site as they have reviews on some of the top suppliers of binaural beats: http://www.binauralbeatsonline.com/

Laura asks…

Can you treat insomnia while breastfeeding?

I noticed my depression has been causing me a lot of restless night, plus a lot of personal stuff is going on that’s making my depression worse. Well I have a 5 month old, who sleeps through the night, I breastfeed her btw. As much as I really wanna fall asleep my body just won’t let me..is there anything I can do?

Binaural Beats answers:

Hey Grace! I hope I can help! If you have never tried binaural beats for falling asleep I would highly recommend you give them a try. I first learned about binaural beats when I was a total insomniac never sleeping more than two hours a day. They basically work like a tuning fork to bring your brain into a sleepy state of consciousness. There are some great binaural beat videos on youtube for falling asleep. Here is one I like… Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ah-l13HFfo
They also have sessions made specifically for depression that might really help you as well! Here is a good example:

I hope they help you as much as they have helped me!

Mandy asks…

How can I become more creative?

I’m trying to wright a novel and I need some really good advice on how to stay creative and interested in what I’m doing. Sometimes I’ll find my self turning my story line into another star wars or just not coming up with a story line at all. I wish I could have ideas come into my head more easily. Please help me learn how to come up with original material that satisfies me.

Binaural Beats answers:

There are a few ways, when you consider that everyone has virtually unlimited creative potential that is rarely put to use.

1. Sleep deprivation, or waking yourself very early. Obviously when you are asleep, you are often at your most creative, as the dreams you have are an entirely abstract and original interpretation of thoughts and happenings in your life. Waking early interrupts the sleep state and allows you to briefly access this state consciously. Depriving yourself of sleep can do this too, although you may even hallucinate if done to excess!

2. Downloading isochronic tones or binaural beats that stimulate alpha/theta waves in the brain. This would induce a similar state as the above; a kind of half awake, half asleep state where abstract thinking is much more natural. Most highly creative people produce an abundance of these brainwaves naturally.

3. Hypnosis. I’m sure there are plenty of self hypnosis mp3s/cds available that promoted increased creativity. It may not work first time for you or you may not be a particularly good trance subject, but if you are, you could find yourself spontaneously being more inventive.

Good luck!
